Carl (Jim Carrey) says no to everything, until he decides to say yes; it changes his life.
He learns Korean, guitar, and meets o so cute and crazy Allison (Zooey).

A bunch of Germans in World War Two that don’t speak German or have German accents try to kill Hitler and fail.
They get executed, but Hitler kills himself later.

I’ve been waiting to see this movie ever since I saw the first trailer in September. The graphic novel movie “genre” is my favourite despite not liking the actual graphic novels. I may have hyped it up too much.

The review:
Slow, not enough action, unnecessary sex and flashbacks.
Rorschach, The Comedian, and Dr Manhattan are great strong characters though.
Most visuals are stunning, some gruesome.
Epic but not amazing.

I cannot believe I waited so long to see this movie. I knew I wanted to see it, the trailers looked funny. And Colin Farrell actually uses his Irish accent.
So when some friends decided to go along to see it at one of the smaller boutique theatres in town we decided to finally see it too.

The review:
Two hit men are sent to Bruges (it’s in Belgium) to hide after a hit gone wrong.
Dark, so fucking hilarious, politically incorrect.
Amazing dialogue, amazing setting.
Plus a “midget”.

A major Oscar winning movie must be great right? Well yea. It was great. The youngest kids are amazing actors, so natural. Usually when kids are in movies the acting can seem a bit forced, it may be that they don’t know any better, or it may be that they are all geniuses. I don’t think it really matters.
The review:
Skin’s Anwar on game show “Millionaire”. Must have cheated to get to the end?
Kids from the slums have a hard life!
Love story.
Awesome Bollywood dance scene.

I’ve finally finished reading The Lovely Bones by Alice Seabold. It’s the much hyped book that is being turned into a movie by New Zealand’s own Peter Jackson.
The review:
Alice is a fantastic writer.
Murdered child Susie Salmon watches from her heaven as her killer isn’t caught. Her family lives their life.
Disappointed at lack of resolution.
