Thursday, February 14: Webstock day 1 and what better day for it than Valentine’s Day? Webstock is love after all. Kelli Anderson presented one of my favourite talks of the conference, she told us about some of her best paper projects including a paper record player wedding invitation, and a fake New York Times that was created collaboratively and distributed to thousands of unsuspecting New Yorkers.
Friday, February 15: Webstock day 2 held more great speakers at the beautiful Town Hall, and an interesting after party at The Embassy Theatre where some of the great work on stage was undone by one of the speakers being unable to follow his own advice about destroying ego & misogyny. Also, there were some creeps at the party who were only interested in talking to some of the women about their work until they found out that those particular women were not single. Cheers.
Still, to the team at Webstock: Thank you! It was excellent, I hope I can come back next year. And thanks for having dairy free treats in the ice cream fridge.
