Melbourne Eats

There are a few reasons why someone like me goes to Melbourne.
Food, vintage shopping. Yeah, food and vintage shopping.

I’ve been to Melbourne once before. I was a little less cultured then, and while I remember eating great food I didn’t care about it like I do now. This time food was allocated a bigger budget than accommodation and I started a list of places to eat at months before we left.

I decided to only take one lens on our 8 day trip, it’s fixed length and I love it, but it means missing out on some shots that need more (or less) space. Theres only so far you can squish yourself against a wall in a cafe to get a shot before you look like a twat.

  1. wow I wish I’d known about all these places when I lived in Melbourne! I don’t think I’ve been to any of them… and those photos are incredible!

I do miss the breakfast culture…. it’s very ‘Melbourne’!

  2. Thanks Benhi. No doubt you guys will be able to travel again! Either with the kids or later when they’re older.
Brendan’s parents just got back from hiking the Inca trail! You guys still have at least 30 years of intrepid travel in ya. :)

  3. Great images Kim!!! What fixed lens did you use? They’re so vibrant.

Also, I’m bookmarking this for the next time I go to Melbourne.

  4. With a trip to Melbourne coming up super soon, I’m having a love/hate relationship with this post. My eyes/stomach love it, my bank balance isn’t super fond. I’m going to have to track down a couple of these places. Now, where is the follow-up post that has the places to go for vintage shopping? :)

    • Hi Dee! I promise there is a post coming. I haven’t written it yet or edited the photos…but it is coming.
